July the 18th saw many people in our community take to the streets to aid the less fortunate, to help each other and provide assistance wherever possible. CPF was on hand to provide security when the DA youth were here to help clean up the Church street park, A big thank you guys for being there, people were handing out food parcels at various houses, it did not go unnoticed at least not by me, thank you so much you know who you are, you are making a huge difference.

There is a community hero in our midst, she has been anonymously providing out of her own pocket for the last few years lunches to the homeless in our community on a daily basis, she obviously has a limited capability but what she is able to provide she does and they come to her daily and she feeds them everyday. A true hero doing great work, someone we could all learn to be inspired by. If you perhaps know who this lady is, email us at joburg.ward124@gmail.com we would really like to praise this woman and maybe see how we can learn from her.

Mandela day also brought us a community hero who assisted the less fortunate in our community by providing a great service to 10 souls who struggled with their vision. Imagine not being able to see properly and being without the funds to purchase the necessary glasses to do so. Shyam Narsi of Narsi Optical reached into his own pocket and provided these 10 members with the eye tests and the required glasses for them to be able to see properly. A blessed gift, the gift of sight.
