Jackson Mtembu is presently making a statement which basically says that the ANC in Parliament will vote against the motion to remove the President. He makes a false and contorted argument that by removing Zuma it would collapse the ANC government. This is a lie because the ANC will still be in the position to replace the President and the new President can form a new cabinet. Behind what he is saying the truth is that he and ANC caucus are afraid that the ANC would tear itself apart in that the Zuma faction would attack other ANC members and revolt to such an extent that it would be unable to replace the President in a short period and that new President would not be able to form a new government. There are in fact no reasons whatsover that says that the ANC cannot within days teplace the President and stabilise the situation. Jackson is indeed lying. The removal of Zuma is not the removal of the ANC as the governing party. Jackson and Company are just plain lying. They are being blackmailed by the possibilty that the Zuma Premier League faction would engage in a violent attack on others within the ANC. The real threat is clearly not that this is an oppostion bid for regime change. Effectively the entire country has seen Jackson argue that in removing Zuma the ANC would kill itself. The real threat that he is indicating is that the rogue element in the ANC is holding the country to randsome. What an acknowledgement. So he argues that in the national interest, so that the ANC will not cause further destruction of SA, they have to keep Zuma in place. It is a tacit admission that the ANC is not united enough and do not have the ability to quickly find a new President and hold government together. The tirade against the opposition as a bogeyman is simply a smokescreen. The real threat is coming from Zuma and supporters who will not allow the ANC to replace an impeached Zuma. What a shame. The ANC caucas has made a decision to oppose conscience and integrity simply on the feeble excuse that the call in parliament is coming from the opposition that a corrupt and treacherous President Zuma who habitually breaks the constitution should be removed. This is a betrayal of the ANC legacy and a betrayal of the people of South Africa. The terrible truth is that this is being done with their eyes wide open because Jackson made clear in his lengthy preamble (carefully avoiding to mention Zuma's name) that the ANC caucas are highly concerned about the terrible state of affairs that have harmed SA.
